This 1969 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Automatic recently underwent a recommission back on to the road for a customer. Due to a change in circumstances, we are now able to offer this E Type Jaguar for sale on behalf of the customer.
The bonnet was removed and all of the front brakes were overhauled, including new caliper seals/pistons, brake pipes, brake discs, brake pads and fittings. New steering and suspension parts have also been fitted where required, including track rod ends, bushes etc. The rear brakes have been stripped and overhauled with new caliper seals/pistons, discs and pads. All fuel lines have also been renewed.
Once mechanically sound, the vehicle had all parts removed from the body and was stripped down to bare metal, coated in Jenolite (acid rust eater), etch primed, primed and painted in Old English White. During the bodywork restoration, a new bonnet hinge panel as well as both wing sections of the bonnet have been fitted. After the full respray the original interior has been re-fitted and the engine bay has been reassembled. During the reassembly of the engine bay, various new parts have been fitted including hoses, original radiator re-core, seals, master cylinder, alternator etc. The carburetors have been stripped and overhauled with new jets, floats etc. A new wooden Mota Lita steering wheel has also been fitted.
The original wheels were sent away, checked and repaired where necessary, then painted in silver before being fitted to the car with new tyres and new spinners. A new webasto roof and headlining have been professionally fitted and installed, as well as a new heated rear screen with new seals.
The car was painted underneath and had a full clear wax oyl treatment, as well as a full service (oils etc). It is now ready to drive away and be enjoyed over the summer!
