This 1959 Triumph TR3A is a completed project that underwent a full nut-and-bolt restoration and remains in-house in our showroom. The car was originally exported to Chicago, where it spent its life in the USA before being imported back over in the early 90’s. Upon obtaining the vehicle, we carried out a full nut and bolt rebuild to a custom spec.
Suspension, braking and steering: Complete front suspension polybush overhaul (trunions, fulcrum pins etc), uprated coil springs, copper brake lines, brake calipers/discs/pads, Triumph TR7 steering rack conversion kit, 72 spoke painted wire wheels and tyres.
Engine and gearbox: 89mm pistons and liners (2400cc), hi-torque camshaft, cam bearings, cam followers, crankshaft regrind, big end shells, main bearing shells, oil pump, timing chain and sprockets, uprated water pump, unleaded head conversion, all seals and gaskets, narrow belt conversion, alternator conversion, complete carburetor overhaul with new needles/gaskets etc, complete clutch, fully reconditioned TR4 gearbox with TR6 overdrive unit.
Interior: Complete exchange vinyl seats including new spring bases, sponges and covers, wool carpet, vinyl trim kit including door panels, 6x gauge recondition, speedometer re-calibrated for overdrive gearbox, dashboard switches, Mota Lita wood rim steering wheel and boss, Clayton heater upgrade, vinyl hood cover and tonneau cover.
Engine bay components & various ancillaries: Radiator, pvc covered wiring loom, complete hose kit, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel tank, stainless steel exhaust system, windscreen and all seals, re-chromed windscreen stanchions and frame, uprated starter motor, door/bonnet/boot hinges, tripod headlamps,all lights and chrome work.
