This sold 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 was originally exported to America, where it spent its life in New York. It has recently been imported back and is now having a full nut and bolt restoration carried out to a customers own specification.
The car was stripped down to a bare shell then sand blasted and coated in etch primer. We carried out the minor fabrication repairs required, before painting the chassis and underbody in 2 pack Healey Blue. Original panels have been repaired and repairs sections installed where needed, then all panels dry fitted to ensure the customer was happy with all panel gaps. All panels as well as the body was then painted in traditional two tone Healey Blue over Old English White.
All original suspension components were blasted and powder coated, with new polybushes, springs, nuts and bolts installed. The customer requested to upgrade the brakes, so new uprated calipers, pads and flexi hoses have also been fitted.
The original engine was stripped to a bare block, sent off for machining, before returning and being fully re-built in house with all new parts including pistons, camshaft, oil pump, gaskets, seals, unleaded valves etc. It was then fitted in to the car with the original overdrive gearbox, again fully overhauled.
We are now in the process of fitting new parts, including original bumpers/lights that have been re-chromed, as well as all new fuel/water/electric systems.
