This 1972 MGB Roadster is a matching numbers home market vehicle that is having a full nut and bolt restoration to a customers specification. This is a sold project and is not available to be purchased.
A full bare metal respray has been carried out, with the car finished in Tartan Red. The front and rear axles have been stripped and painted in 2 pack gloss black, where they’ve been rebuilt with new parts, including upgraded Spax telescopic front and rear shock absorbers, as well as a polybush suspension kit.
The 1800cc engine has been completely rebuilt in-house, including a gas flowed cylinder head plus a hi-torque camshaft with vernier timing gear. This has been fitted on new mounts and the engine bay in the process of having new parts fitted including master cylinders, rebuilt original heater box, brake servo, CSI electronic ignition kit, aluminium radiator, Revotec electric fan, oil cooler with braided hoses, wiring loom with fuse box, plus various other parts. Other upgrades included a full stainless steel Tourist Trophy exhaust system, HS6 carburetors and K&N air filters.
The interior has had the original dash stripped and re-painted in black crackle finish, with all new switches and reconditioned gauges fitted. The original seats have been overhauled in black leather, with red piping to match the wool carpet throughout. A custom dished Mota Lita steering wheel was fitted to finish the cockpit.
Various other optional extras were installed during the restoration, including a twin USB charging point and hidden Bluetooth stereo system. After over 100 miles of local test driving the car was delivered to the customer in Yorkshire.
